Corrosion introduces groundbreaking environmentally friendly maritime antifouling invention.

In an exclusive cooperation with high-end partners, Corrosion has developed a non-chemical alternative antifouling method. While UV-C light has been used effectively in other markets, Corrosion has pushed this technology even further.

The product is a UV-C cooler which uses underlying technology based on Philips IP to eliminate fouling growth. This cooler is the result of 2.5 years of research conducted at Corrosion’s own on-site laboratory, in the field, and on a tug boat.

It is a combination of two existing technologies: UV-C light as a superb antifouling method and pillow plate technology for highly efficient cooling. It is a patented innovation that fits today’s need for sustainable solutions. In addition, the use of coated steel for the UV-C cooler increases its effectiveness and galvanic corrosion cannot occur.

The new technology ensures full, environmentally friendly fouling protection, in freshwater or seawater, and even in stagnant water.

Corrosion’s new solution is a flexible solution with varied and multiple practical application possibilities. It can be used for both retrofit and new building because each UV-C cooler is tailor-made to fit client specifications. Installation is not complicated and can be done in dry dock and with Corrosion’s assistance when desired.
