Innovative Energy Platform is launched in Brazil

Innovative platform to develop and operate “Energy Ecosystems” is launched in Brazil.

A brand-new business model aims to integrate different energy sources and their uses in several Brazilian regions.
The company is called EnP Energy Platform and the purpose of this Brazilian Energy company, headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, is to contribute effectively to the energy transition, and act in the design, development and operation of integrated projects, forming regional energy ecosystems.

For the energy sector in Brazil, the importance of a new industry player with this focus is undeniable, and we at M&O are also proud to be contributing to the development of this new company and its new concept called “Energy Ecosystems”.

EnP is being conceived in a moment where the world is seeking new solutions, optimized for sustainability, but without disregarding the need for local development and to utilize to local resources. In line with the global demand for optimization in all parts of the energy matrix, the timing for such an initiative is excellent, and Brazil, with its diverse sources of energy, as well as economy of scale, can be an excellent place to launch this”, says Managing Director of M&O Brazil in Rio de Janeiro Jan Lomholdt.

He further explains that with a player like EnP entering the market, we are seeing the first signs of interest in creating a geographical cluster that will be driving operational and logistic cost down, which is the way to move forward when oil and gas prices are under pressure. He believes that the onshore market in Brazil will be a key building block in the reginal clusters, and confirms that M&O is looking forward to being a part of it with its portfolio of leading international suppliers of solutions dedicated to exactly this area.

Related to the launch of the company on the 10th of March 2020, CEO of EnP, Marcio Felix, explained the next steps for EnP. “We will identify in several Brazilian states the existence of active exploration blocks, mainly the areas available in ANP’s Open Acreage”. Besides acquiring exploration and production blocks, EnP aims to integrate these areas with other projects such as biogas, solar, refineries, thermal power stations, gas infrastructure, among others. “The idea is to set up a number of projects that will contribute to each other. This way we will be creating a regional ecosystem with technologies that seek to promote green and carbon optimized solutions.”, he says.

EnP currently have presence in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Vitória (ES) and Brasília (DF), and is developing new projects towards various other regions.

EnP is actively seeking strategic partners and investors to expand our activities to several regions in Brazil, and we welcome new and innovative solutions to face the challenges of energy transition” he finalizes.

We at M&O look forward to be a part of this journey!
